On the page 12: “The Quest For Knowledge Knows No Boundaries”: Mayflower Transports Textbooks To Russia: Мaу flower International recently teamed up with two Mayflower agents to transport donated textbooks and library books to Russia. In donating the needed services to this worthwhile project. Mayflower had the unique opportunity to play a part in the continuing educational development of post-Communist Russia.
As part of this charitable effort, Campus Movers. Cleveland, Ohio, packed and transported over 1,000 English textbooks free of charge from Cleveland to Pskov, Russia. The textbooks which were donated lo a group of Russian exchange students and teachers visiting a school in the Cleveland area., were shipped and delivered to Pskov Lycee, an English-language magnet school in Russia. Greatly appreciated, these educational tools are considered a valuable commodity, because limited resources arc available in Russian schools to buy new books and related supplies.
In a similar effort. Corpus Christi Transfer Company, Corpus Chnsti. Tex., joined forces with a Russian church in handling the loading and transportation of three 40-foot containers of donated books. The containers, weighing in at 45,000 pounds each, were shipped to Serpukhov, Russia, where they will eventually be used for the creation of a children’s library. A key participant in this import project, Corpus Christi Transfer plans to also be involved in future book shipments.]
